A significant portion of PMI’s calibration services focuses on Physical and Dimensional calibration and testing. These services are commonly used in Quality Control to accurately measure size, distance, temperature, and pressure, as well as to apply force or tension with remarkable precision and repeatability, often down to the millionths. Examples of Physical and Dimensional calibration equipment include calipers, micrometers, thread and plug gauges, gauge blocks, and instruments that measure light, sound, magnetism, torque, pressure, and vacuum. Most of these calibrations are conducted in a highly controlled environment set to 68°F.
